Research without barriers: The era of open science
The Douglas Open Science Trainee Committee is pleased to invite you to their first seminar “Research without barriers: The era of open science”.
Open Science is a growing movement with rapidly increasing career opportunities. The Douglas Open Science Training Series will provide trainees with knowledge and skills surrounding various open science practices (e.g., co-design, data sharing, knowledge mobilization). Through a series of monthly events, each targeting a key open science practice, trainees will learn how to implement open science practices in their research and about the many career opportunities available.
Presented by Dr Katie Lavigne, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University and a Researcher at the Douglas Research Centre, where she also leads the Douglas Open Science Program.
During this practical seminar, we will discuss what is open science and its practices throughout the research life cycle. This seminar also will share insights on how to make research more transparent, reproducible, and collaborative. In addition, our speaker will introduce a range of topics, including data sharing, pre-registration, open access publishing, and the opportunities available in the Douglas Research Center related to open science.
Free registration!
Snacks will be provided.
