MeDiCal research for all

Congratulations to Dr Lenka Schorova and Justin Sung from the Research Institute of MUHC, recipient of a $2,000 Tremplin Ambassador Award to support MeDiC-al research for all: science communication, social media, and public relations  — workshops aimed at improving science communication competencies of participants. Trainees learned about effective science communication in many forms. Participants were given important communication tools which will prove useful in their ongoing and future research and career. As we covered topics such as public engagement – trainees were given the tools to simplify their complex science and make it more accessible to broader audiences.

Added Value : Through this program, our trainees will acquire important skills such as effective and inclusive science communication through various mediums required for work within and outside of academic research.

❝ This award allowed us to organize four workshops aimed at improving science communication competencies of participants. Through one-on-one mentor-trainee interaction during workshops, we ensured that everyone felt included and was provided with individual feedback to their communication needs, strengthening self-development. In addition, group activities enabled trainees to receive feedback not only from mentors but also from their peers. The whole experience was very well perceived.

❝I would like to thank you for taking the many initiatives you have implemented. I really enjoyed the Tremplin seminars. a trainee
