These programs provide structured exposure to commercialization pathways and interdisciplinary collaboration, helping researchers better understand how scientific findings can be positioned for broader impact.

Overall, the article argues that expanding the scope of postdoctoral training beyond traditional academic metrics is essential not only for improving career flexibility, but also for ensuring that scientific discoveries can more effectively progress toward applications that benefit society.
